San Diego Zoo, Wednesday July 9

Wednesday proved to be mostly overcast and cloudy......perfect for a day of walking around the zoo. And riding around the zoo. And zooming over the zoo. The family ticket package we were able to get included the tram and the sky bucket thingies, so we got to take a break from walking occasionally! We spent the whole morning working our way up the "left side" of the zoo, where all the birds, jungly stuff, & monkeys were. We made it to the top, where we duly noted that the polar bears were sleeping (LOTS of the animals were taking advantage of the cool cloudy weather to take naps....phooey!). Then we took the sky tram back down close to the entrance, in the children's zoo and ate lunch.

After lunch, we browsed the petting zoo, the nursery, the reptile house, and bug house (ewwww), then took the tram around the "right side" of the zoo, where all the fairly biggish animals are.......giraffes, elephants, and the like.

We ended the day by riding the skyway up and back one more time, browsed shops a bit, and headed "home".
