Boat Day! Tues July 8

We spent Tuesday down at the harbor exploring ships! We hit the Maritime museum first, crawling all over the "Surprise", the "Star of India", the Russian submarine, and a couple others.

Next we walked down the water front to the Midway, an aircraft carrier turned museum. WOW, what a huge ship! It was fascinating (and exhausting!) meandering all over, up and down ladder like staircases, following the trail of the audio tour. We spent a LONG time here, but it was very cool.

We took a separate little (half hour) tour that went up the tower, where the traffic control/bridge is. It feels like you are waaaaaayyyy up high up there. Ben got to sit in the "Boss" chair......thought that was pretty cool. Boy were we tired after schlepping all over this ship. Anyway, here is slideshow #2:

We bopped back to Pio Pico campground and ended up the day with a round of miniature golf, one of Ben's favorite things to do.
