YIKES!
We were just south of LA, and in one of those spots on a crowded freeway where 5 or so lanes funnel down to 2 and unexpectedly stop dead. Mark couldn't stop fast enough, and rear-ended an SUV in front of us. We weren't going fast enough for anyone to get hurt, thank the Lord, but our front end definitely got the worst of it. Fortunately the lady in the SUV was in a gracious frame of mind. Info got swapped and we pulled off at a Vons in a not-so-great part of town to assess damage and decide what to do. Well, to make it short, we u-turned, went home, downsized to the Civic, and off we went again. We had to leave quite a bit behind (the boogie boards just wouldn't fit--boo hoo!), but we were able to cram in the basics + children. The hooligans were a bit cramped back there, which made for a character building ride :o). With the delay, we made it almost to the campground by 6:30 or so, stopped for dinner, and scooted in at about 7.
H1 & H2 & Mom......glad to be out of the car!
We even had enough time after unloading everything at the trailer to go up to the kid lounge and play some air hockey. TT campgrounds have great facilities! Rec rooms, swimming, miniature golf etc.
