Well, Cami is currently making cc cookies and driving Kendra mad by insisting that none be eaten before all are baked. I mean....how illogical is that?? Then you don't get them fresh out of the oven (like an hour makes that much difference?)! For the record, I am siding with Kendra on this one. Ummmm.
Endured the quarterly obligatory homeschool meeting today. It was a wonderful meeting, as meetings go, but not being a meeting sort of person, it was a bit of a yawn. There was a mini seminar on the importance of reading/reading aloud/ways to make reading aloud exciting etc. that was actually very good, in all fairness. Being an unrepentant bibliophile, there wasn't anything that *I* learned particularly, but it was gratifying to see families with younger kids being encouraged to fearlessly read aloud to their children. Lets just say that poor Ben, being the youngest of my hooligans, has had to endure literature that is a bit of a stretch on occasion, in order to keep the older hooligans happy. They simply refuse to stop being read to. Thus he's had to endure Great Expectations and the like, in between the lighter selections. His own personal taste in literature tends toward instruction manuals, chess books, Asterix the Gaul, and Wayside School, so Lord knows it's a good thing I read some classics out loud. He loudly informed me yesterday that he hated and refused to read any more historical fiction. "Ummmm.....ok, son.......you can think that if you want.......won't change what I make you read, but if you want to think that, I can't exactly stop you." Sigh. To be continued.
The cookies are waiting for me to eat them....resistance is futile....they must be assimilated.
