Weekend part 2: AWANA Games!!

The second part of the weekend was the games at Arcadia H.S. this afternoon (Sat). The teams compete in 10 different events that I won't even try to describe. They had great fun, and placed a respectable 2nd place in the prelim. round. They won the "sudden death" match with the other 2nd place team to see who would go on, but ended up losing soundly in the semifinals.

The games always begin with the flag salute. The CVCC team is directly in the foreground of the pic. with their black shirts & bar codes (says "bought with a price..." underneath).

Kendra running in the Marathon Medly. Unfortunately, the boy that Kendra passed the baton to ended up knocking down a pin so they were disqualified. Boo hoo!

Post-games photo.....it had started raining while we were in the gym & I didn't catch them all smiling, but there they all are anyway. They did a great job!
