OH-li-vah, Oh-li-vah......!
Well, play in full swing! The littlest munchkins (or pickpockets) are so cute. Pics coming soon. I found the camera. Its been a hectic production week, but most of the rehearsals were only a couple blocks away (thank you Lord). I got to actually sit in the audience and watch it today, with all the family & friends, and enjoyed it immensely. Everyone did a great job, Ben included. He had a few um.......costume issues, that had me saying wha...., huh???, most of the way through, but thats pretty normal. He started out mostly the picture perfect little pickpocket - except that his shirt was buttoned a bit cockeyed. But that just made him look more...well... "authentic". About halfway through the first pickpocket scene I noticed that his hat was missing. OK, WHERE did the hat go?? Hmmmm. Well, off they went, and he was hatless for awhile. THEN, when they came back in toward the end, he had someone else's hat on, but no coat! What??? I was sort of surprised they let him onstage with no coat (they can be sticky about having all your costume pieces), but I suppose grace reigned. Sigh. Well, when the performance was over we tramped over the stage and found his hat under a big pile of burlap sacks in the set room (????), and retrieved his coat. This is why I put bright orange tape with his name on all his costume pieces. There you go. It was a wonderful performance. He was a fabulous lead pickpocket, and he and Cami are in 1 more - they get to go watch tomorrow, and perform tomorrow night, and I'll be chaperoning both tomorrow.
