Well, the end of another busy hooligan week! And the ink wasn't even dry on that first auspicious sentence when I was forced to respond to cries of panic from Kendra standing arm deep in front of the freezer struggling to keep the avalanche of frozen food from ending up on the floor as she dug deep for the vanilla ice-cream! And what do you suppose she needed it for???? HA! - I titled this blog entry before the ill fated freezer avalanche, and what is she trying to make but a Cherry Chocolate Dr. Pepper float! I'm a prophet. Anyway, the other hooligans took - pause for a Cherry Chocolate Dr. Pepper taste test.........yummmmmmmmmm......the float is even better!! - advantage of the distraction to begin a wrestling match on the sofa, followed by Kendra and I having tug of war with 3 big plastic tumblers that have been stubbornly wedged together for at least a month. It seems someone tries unsuccessfully to unwedge them about once a week, then puts them back in the cupboard. Kendra tried 1. tug of war, 2. hot water, and 3. throwing them on the floor as hard as possible. No dice. Back in the cupboard. Maybe one of these weeks fate will smile on the tumblers.
Incidently, the CC Dr. P came from Walmart.....we spied it this afternoon and immediately said "oooooooooooooooh!! THAT sounds good!" The box says "limited edition", so I guess we'll enjoy it while it's around. We were really at Walmart to try finding black warmup type pants for Kendra for her AWANA games. Didn't get pants, but walked out with our few eclectic hooligan-type "essentials". CC Dr. P, new sunglasses for me, and a box of 'black' (very cool) ticonderoga pencils. Like we need more pencils. If we'd just clean out the couch we'd be resupplied for the rest of the year. But the black ones are really cool.
Highlights of our week:
God was SO good.....I had exactly 1 hr at Goodwill last Sun. afternoon to find a jacket for Ben's pickpocket costume. They had to wear their costumes Mon. night, and I was under the gun. After about .5 hr of wandering and despairing, I found something that turned out to be great, AND I also found better pants for his costume than the ones I was going to use! Yay!
Cami is liking the online Alg. course (free is good as well). So far so good.
Ben bowled a 128 on Friday! Way to go!
My good buddy Jeanne M. picked Ben up from pickpocket practice Wed. night so I didn't have to leave AWANA.
Ben "shook it off" (his own words, bless his heart) about 3 times instead of melting down this week. We had mostly goodish days, which is better than terrible/horrible/no-good/very bad ones.
I wish I had the camera...not sure where it wandered to in the last few days. I really wanted to include pics of the CC Dr. P, Ben as a pickpocket etc. Grrrrr. All the great blog photos I saw today gave me blog envy. My blog just has......words ..........."sniff!!". Once I get my photo "system" down...."watch out world!" Heh!
